Patrick Beverley Arrested on Felony Assault Charge
Ex-NBA guard Patrick Beverley was arrested for allegedly assaulting his minor sister, including choking and punching her, according to Texas authorities.

Patrick Beverley, the former NBA player, has been arrested after being accused of assaulting his younger sister at a home in Texas. The allegations say he punched her in the eye and choked her for almost half a minute.
According to official reports, the sister told police she snuck out in the middle of the night on November 14 to meet her boyfriend at a nearby park, without getting permission first. When she got back, her mom, Lisa, was awake and told her to go straight to her room. Then Lisa asked her to call her boyfriend and have him come pick her up.
When the boyfriend arrived, he was told to come inside, and Lisa called Patrick Beverley to come over as well. Once Beverley got there, he apparently started yelling at his sister. He then allegedly grabbed her neck with both hands and lifted her off the ground, making her feet come up.
The sister said the chokehold hurt and made her feel like she couldn’t breathe, lasting 20 to 30 seconds. Beverley then reportedly dragged her out of the bedroom by her neck, slammed her against the walls in an open area of the house, and then laid her down on the sofa. While standing over her, he allegedly punched her once in the left eye with a closed fist.
She also said Beverley threatened her, saying he “will be the family relative to kill her."
After that, Beverley told the boyfriend to leave and followed him out. When Beverley came back inside, the boyfriend called the cops for help.
Police found marks on the sister’s neck and small red spots in the whites of her eyes, which can happen from strangulation. Beverley was arrested and booked on felony assault charges in Fort Bend County jail.
Later, Beverley went on social media and posted a message saying: “Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv❤️🙏🏾”
